The latest reviews from Salzburg (Bellini´s Norma)
Nicht weniger als ein Wunder ...
The dramatic depth of Ms. Bartoli’s performance comes from the incisiveness, colorings and inflections of her singing. In Act I, when trying to quell the seething anger of the Druids, who are itching to attack the Roman occupiers, Norma sings “Casta Diva.” In this prayer to the goddess of the moon, Ms. Bartoli brought ravishing warmth and intimacy to her account.

Salzburg Whitsun Festival 2016 - West Side Story
Leonard Bernstein’s brilliant composition, West Side Story, will be at the musical and dramatic centre of the Whitsun Festival 2016 - with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
Cecilia comments: "The ... West Side Story, is a 20th century masterpiece. The wish that Bernstein obviously expressed, that in the midst of the Broadway ensemble, the lovers’ roles, Maria and Tony, could be sung by operatic voices, opens up a wonderful new repertoire to me, including hits like Tonight, One Hand, One Heart, I Feel Pretty and Somewhere.”Back to News »
