Cecila Bartoli has been honoured at the 49th Record Academy Awards in Japan with a Gold Award for Norma. Accepting the Award, Cecilia said: “I feel very honored and proud to receive the Record Academy Award from Japan which also intensifies my relationship with the Japanese public whom I am looking forward to meeting again very soon. I am extremely happy to have been awarded the 2013 Record Academy Award for our recent Norma recording. To me, an important prize of this kind means not only an acknowledgement of my work as a performer and researcher but also an award bestowed upon Vincenzo Bellini’s masterpiece: together with conductor Giovanni Antonini, the other soloists and the Orchestra La Scintilla playing on period instruments, we have tried to reveal Norma’s authentic pre-Romantic roots and restore it as Bellini originally intended.”
The Record Academy Awards are held by Record Geijutsu magazine in Japan.
In March 2014 Cecilia Bartoli’s recordings of Rossini’s Le Comte Ory and Otello will be released on Blu-ray and DVD.Back to News »
